Riverhall Systems Limited has been in existence since 2001.

Much of our software is built to our customers' specific requirements. We do not currently sell off-the-shelf software but build to the customer's requirements from our extensive toolkit. We aim to deliver very high quality reliable systems on time. We try to listen very hard to our customers and deliver software that really meets their business needs. We believe that it is this attitude that is responsible for the success of the company.

The Job

Primarily, you will be a software developer, writing programs in various languages, designing programs, databases and systems. You will be backed up in this by a huge amount of technical experience from the company's existing staff. We believe in staying on top of the latest technology and you will be very much encouraged to develop your skills. We will give you as much responsibility as we think you can handle and we hope to recruit someone who can grow as the company grows, and whom we hope will become a senior figure in the company as it expands in the future.

A secondary responsibility will be helping keep the company's server infrastructure operating effectively. We run a number of Linux and Windows servers but are migrating services to Linux as we upgrade hardware.

The Person

You will be committed to a career in software development. You will most likely have some computer and programming experience. This could come from previous employment or from your studies, or from work experience, or home use. Skills or interest in any of the technology listed above would be relevant but if you haven't got these specific skills, don't worry.

You must already be legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom. Proof of this will be required.

The Opportunity

This is a great chance to see the operation of a small growing business from the inside - you won't be a small fish in a large pond if you join us - you'll play a vital and fascinating part in the development of the company. We offer you above all an opportunity to learn new skills and enhance the skills you have already acquired.

We aim to be very lifestyle friendly. Provided you can get the job done, you will have a lot of freedom to set your own pattern of work.

The Recruitment Process

We advertise in leading national newspapers plus our web site and various other places.

Applications are accepted only through a form on this web site.

We review all applications. Applicants who pass our initial filtering will be invited to come into the office to take some tests. These tests typically take several hours. When you come in to take the tests you will also have an opportunity to meet our staff and find out what it is like to work for us.

Based on the results of the tests, selected candidates will be invited to final interview. You will be informed a week after the tests whether or not you have been selected for final interview.

The final interviews will take place as soon as you are available.

A job offer will be made as soon as we've been able to conduct a final interview and will be held open for up to one week.

If available you can start as soon as you accept the offer, but in any case you must be prepared to start work within about a month.
