London, May 2007. Riverhall Systems completes the software component of an advanced, automatic real-time monitoring system for the oil and gas industries which can now replace the leg-work that's been required to date. Wireless Measurement, based in Portsmouth, UK, have developed sophisticated wireless sensors to monitor and transmait the status of oil and gas wells to a control center. The MultiMesh software produced by Riverhall Systems records the data in real time and presents dynamic status displays on web browsers, allowing engineers to review the whole field or zoom in on particular wells or tags (points of measurement). The system automatically raises alarms when levels fall outside expected boundaries and can send emails, SMS text messages or interface to other systems, including physical sounders, like sirens. All the readings are logged in a database so engineers can view long-term trends using a graphical history viewer through the web interface. A published interface allows third parties to interrogate and control the system with their own software. This is the first system of its type that is safe for well-head use. The low power wireless communication and anti-static construction of the sensors ensure spark-free operation - which is essential in this environment. It will replace manually recording readings from guages with a pen and clipboard and will save the industry millions of dollars with lower operating costs and improved efficiency.
